Copper Box coming to Jensen Center June 19

Oshkosh-based group to perform on International Bank of Amherst Terrace

The Jensen Community Center welcomes Copper Box to its International Bank of Amherst Terrace June 19 from 6 to 9 p.m. for an outdoor summer concert. The venue opens at 5:30 p.m., and patrons are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating on and around the terrace. B3 BBQ & Patsy’s Mac plus UW-Stevens Point’s Stevie’s Food Truck will offer varied menus and the Center will have beverages available for purchase. The Center asks that no carry-ins be brought on the grounds, and a $20 suggested donation per person will be collected at the door. All proceeds benefit the Jensen Center’s fundraising efforts. In case of inclement weather, the show will be moved inside the facility.

Based in Oshkosh, Copper Box started in 2002 with co-founders Danny Jerabek & Michelle LL (Jerabek). Among its recent awards, the group won 2025 Album of the Year, 2025 and 2024 Folk Rock Band, and 2024 Artist of the Year from the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI).

Danny grew up performing in his dad’s band from age 9 and is self-taught on button accordion (currently endorsed by Hohner Accordions), drums, trumpet, sax, and more.

After marrying Michelle L. Thull, who performed in her dad’s family band, the duo started Copper Box. According to the pair, the name implies, “the squeeze box being a great conductor of energy!”

With the help of Dan Cable on drums and Danny’s brother, David, on bass and harmonies, Copper Box continues to deliver a punch in entertainment and musicality, playing familiar songs with a twist in a multi-genre accord (polka, rock, blues, and jazz), as well as their own originals for concerts and events. The band has performed in numerous venues, ranging from Appleton’s Oktoberfest to Milwaukee’s Oktoberfest and Summerfest to the International Accordian Festival in San Antonio, Texas. They’ve opened for or shared the stage with such groups as The Doobie Brothers, The Mavericks, The Little River Band, Buckwheat Zydeco, Little Feat, Little Big Town, Peter Frampton, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Lou Gramm, Spin Doctors, Los Lonely Boys, and Huey Lewis and the News. The band has released 11 albums over the past two dozen years.
