A favorite performer returns to the Jensen Community Center stage in the Dallas and Edith Pankowski Theater this August when Steve March-Tormé is joined by Michael and Jack Murphy for Pop Goes The Decades: Unplugged! The show is described as “an intimate, harmony-driven evening of timeless songs from the 1960s through the 1990s.”
The 7 p.m. show is preceded by a 6 p.m. reception in the Center’s lobby with appetizers from The Village Hive and a cash bar run by the Jensen Center.
Advance reserved tickets for $25 are on sale now at jensencommunitycenter.ticketspice.com/pop or by clicking on the URL code in the ad on page 4. You can also call the Center at (715) 824-5202 during regular business hours to order tickets. Any unsold tickets will be available for $30 at the door.
Audiences at the Jensen Center may remember Steve and Michael from their 2024 performance of Pop Goes the Decades. This time, the music returns in a more stripped-down, acoustic setting, placing the focus on rich vocal harmonies, storytelling, and the songs themselves. In addition to this reminiscence show, March-Tormé and Murphy have produced and performed such tribute-style productions as Tumbleweed Re-Connection, celebrating Elton John’s landmark album “Tumbleweed Connection,” and Revolver at 60, honoring The Beatles’ iconic “Revolver.”
March-Tormé is a national touring singer/songwriter and host of three different radio shows on Appleton’s 91.1 FM The Avenue, which can be streamed at avenueradio.com. For more information on Steve, visit stevemarchtorme.com.
Michael and his brother, Jack, have been longtime musical partners for more than a decade. Together, they perform Unplugged Legends, a show dedicated to the great singer-songwriters and acoustic duos and trios of the 1960s and early 1970s. For Pop Goes The Decades: Unplugged!, that spirit expands across multiple decades, featuring music from such artists as Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young; Stevie Wonder; Eric Clapton; The Beatles; Simon & Garfunkel; Cat Stevens; James Taylor; and many more. Blending acoustic arrangements, three-part harmonies, and a deep appreciation for classic songwriting, Pop Goes The Decades: Unplugged! is a warm, nostalgic, and engaging celebration of the songs and stories that continue to define generations.
